Here is the link to the activity and notes that we completed for las frases del día.
Today in class 9-30-08
Today in class we completed several activities from our book which helped us learn and internalize the vocabulary for this chapter. If you visit the online textbook pages 26 and 27 we completed activity 1 and 2. Please visit the online text book and play these activities using the speakers of your computer. We also completed activity 6 and 7 on page 30. Please complete those activities if you were absent on 9-30-08. Visiting your online textbook is the best way to complete those activities, because you can actually listen to the activities over and over.
We also reviewed the following notes from last week.
If you were absent please make sure that we get these notes committed to memory.
Infinitives
• The most basic form of a verb is an infinitive.
• In English, infinitives have the word “to” in front of them such as to walk
or to swim.
• In Spanish, infinitives end in -ar (nadar), -er (leer), or -ir (escribir).
Negatives
• To make an English sentence negative, you usually use the word “not”: I do not
like to sing.
• To make a Spanish sentence negative, you usually put no in front of the verb or
expression: No me gusta cantar.
• To answer a Spanish question negatively, you often use no twice: ¿Te gusta bailar?
No, no me gusta.
• To say that you do not like something at all, you add the word nada: No, no me
gusta nada.
• To say you don’t like either of two choices, use ni...ni: No me gusta ni correr
ni practicar deportes.
Expressing agreement or disagreement
• To agree with what another person likes, use a mí también:
—Me gusta patinar.
—A mí también.
• To agree with what another person dislikes, use a mí tampoco:
—No me gusta cantar.
—A mí tampoco.
Look at the sample
conversation, paying attention to the words
también and tampoco. One of these two
words is positive and one is negative.
Write each word in the correct circle of
the word web.
