Reminder!!!!!! The test for chapter 1B will be next week the 13th of November. Please make sure that you know all of the vocabulary that is posted below. Yes!!! We are moving very quickly through this chapter. It is your responsibility to make sure you have memorized the vocabulary for this chapter. Also keep in mind that there will be a speaking assessment for this chapter as well. You will need to pass the speaking assessment of with me before we take the test on the 13th of November.

Today in class we took a pop quiz covering the adjectives that we studied last class and that we practiced for homework from conjuguemos. If you were absent you need to make up this quiz ASAP!

Today in class we began to study the definite and indefinite articles in Spanish below are some of the important notes that will help you learn what they are and how they are used.

Definite and indefinite articles El and la are called definite articles and are the equivalent of “the” in English. El is used with masculine nouns; la is used with feminine nouns. You’ve already seen words with definite articles:

Un and una are called indefinite articles and are the equivalent of “a” and “an” in English. Un is used with masculine nouns; una is used with feminine nouns:

	Learning by repetition
	When you learn a new noun, say it aloud, along with its definite article, as often as you get a chance.
